And I all triumphantly went “VANDEL! IT’S VANDEL! WE DIDN’T REALLY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM ON THE END. LET ME SHOW YOU” and I literally ran into the living room and came back and was like holding my breath as I double checked because I haven’t read the book since it came out so maybe my mind was playing tricks on me. And my friend was all, “…are you okay? What? did he just die? Do you like that character or something?” And I should note I had been making my friend start reading Illidan, so he SHOULD HAVE RECOGNIZED THE NAME but anyway, I went “HOLD ON. WHAT? WHAT!?!?” And I gave like this ragged gasp. Like, my friend was sitting next to me watching me play because he’s a druid most of the time, and I just got the Broken Shore Demon Hunter campaign line where it was all “Go to your class hall”… so I did then accepted the quest that popped up and then casually was watching the images of the distress call and I was all, “Yeah, yeah, Vandel wants help on….wait. I’m so excited about Vandel showing up in game.
